I had a response email yesterday from the city of Santa Rosa, but there was no time yesterday to post about it.

There was a missive from a city engineer specifically to let me know that they are aware of the 'problem' at the particular intersection I wrote about & it's one of over 100 different intersections that they are currently drawing up plans to do something about. Once all the plans are made they will put it out to bed and construction is expected to begin no earlier than late 2015. The gentleman also let me know that he will be uprising the police departments of my concerns so that they might be able to do some traffic enforcement there. Given that the intersection is one block away from the main police station in Santa Rosa, that might actually happen.

While I am pleased to know that something is in the works, that it will be a year and a half before anything actually happens does not make me happy. What in the name of Sam Hill are pedestrians supposed to do now?

As soon as I get my head above water, I think I will follow the suggestion that came from allanh and will go ahead and write some Mr. Roadshow at the Mercury News.
