A lack of diversity.....
I went to the hardware store today. I had 2 screen doors to repair and paint to pick up.
On arrival, there were just 2 cars I think in the section of the lot I parked in. Thirty minutes later, hardware and paint in hand, I came out to a gaggle of white cars. That section of the lot, not far from the entrance by the way, had 19 cars in it, all white. WTF?
I drive a white Prius V. I started walking towards a white Toyota Highlander, then realized I was in the next row over. I would have shot a pic, but I’d left my phone in the car. By the time I got to my Prius, two cars had pulled in, one red, the other grey.
Integration.

hopelessannoying. White cars up this way isn’t unusual. It’s just strange when that’s all there is.no subject

I’m generally not invested in the color of what I drive. It’s always been secondary to reliability and gas economy/ecological concerns. I’d wanted the Prius for a very long time, and live driving it. Once electric vehicles are a practical option for those of us who live in the boondocks, I’ll list after one of those.
We got the white Prius V based on what the dealership had on hand with the options we wanted. I’d wanted a plug in, but my hubby insisted on something that could haul stuff. This one actually thinks it’s an SUV, while getting 40 mpg. They had 3 that had the features we wanted. The other two were both dark- one black, the other dark navy. In this area, which sees triple digits for a few weeks each summer, white was the only reasonable choice. Given my druthers, I’d be driving something in a medium shade of green.
