Off to Safeway....

osodecanelaWhen one knows how to cook and does it halfway decently, it's wise to be prepared if asked to come for dinner, know that when you then ask politely if you can bring anything, it likely won't be a bottle of wine.
Tomorrow, we've been invited to the to Easter Dinner at Daren and Chris' with the kids. Well, they made it clear, family is expected and my husband and I are family. Joyce wants me to bring the knitting needles, so we can settle into the couch after hunting easter eggs and she can have her first lesson. the child is 6 and having learned how to crochet, she says she's reacy to learn how to knit and purl. April, at five, recognizes the stitches as they're being done and delights in calling them out. (But I digress.)
So, when I asked, Whipped Cauliflower was requested.
Oh, and dessert. There will likely be 12 to 16 of us.
I have two heads of cauliflower in the fridge, ready to be garlic'ed and whipped into submission. I do need to grab some Romano to finish the vegetable dish, as well as eggs, Splenda baking mix and milk to make the cake and brownies. The rest of what's needed is in the pantry.
Last X-mas, I snagged a couple of heavy weight, non-stick bundt pans in the shape of buildings. One's the shape of a gothic cathedral, and another that's a Tudor Mansion.
The former will 'house' a lemon poppyseed cake; the latter Mexican Brownies, per the kids request.
Time to get cracking.
