From this morning:

The other spike has not yet begun to open. At least not yet.

This mornings view, just before I left for work.

So I took another peek this morning, again just as I was leaving for work.

So, the first is completely open and is soon to be joined by two more. (The bud at upper right corner of the second shot is also starting to open.)

I think I'll post a picture or two a day as they open. It's fun watching them, at least for me.

....begins to open.

As I left for work yesterday morning, I noticed the very first blossom was starting to open.

It's a good day to be alive.

I am not a talent at plant care. Botany was clearly not my strong suit while I was in school and majoring in biology. This lovely orchid that Sarah gave me for my birthday 2 1/2 months ago is now in the phase of losing its blossoms.

Any advise out there on its further care and how do I encourage it to bloom again? Is this an orchid I can put out of doors on my deck, nestled in the redwoods, or is it an indoor plant in this neck fo the woods?
