Wedding guest list update
Jul. 15th, 2008 11:12 pmThe "yes, we'll be there" just made it to 54 tonight (56 if you count the two of us), with 10 not having yet said yea or nay. It hit me this evening there are two more we had not yet extended invites to, that we really should, but that will have to be the limit. There just is not physically enough room in the gazebo for more seats than 67. The youngest guest is only 3; the oldest 90. She smacked me on the shoulder earlier tonight and said, "it's about time! Congratulations!"
We hit the caterer this morning to increase the food order, then picked up the soft drinks for the wedding. Got more than we will possibly need, but better too much than too little. Besides it'll keep if its not used.
Chair count? There are 48 in the gazebo right now, plus the bench for the two of us. Joshua will bring another 3 over to my office tomorrow, and Patrick will pick up 11 from my office for me Saturday and run them out to the house, bless his heart and soul. Amen for pick up trucks and the sainted friends that drive them! That just leaves 5 more to find, if everyone invited comes.
Tomorrow, a couple of early phone calls to extend the last of the invites, and then to the bakery to invite the baker to come. She was so jazzed about baking this cake, I'd really like her there to witness our joy.
Daren confiscated our wedding rings tonight at dinner to have them cleaned and polished before the wedding. I feel strangely naked without mine. Surprisingly uncomfortable, actually.
Enough babbling for now. Off to bed.
