Handiwork...
Jan. 3rd, 2016 12:01 pmWas talking last night briefly to
malamute_daddy and made him chuckle. He called as I was running a couple of errands, one of which was a stop at Joann's to get belt webbing to make a firewood carrier. He laughed. "Only you would make one rather than go in a buy one." I reminded him that when I want a sweater, I generally start by selecting the sheep.
For Christ's sake, its a couple of straight seems, some webbing, a couple of dowels and some canvas that I already had in my sewing stash. Why the hell not?
It took me an hour to throw together this morning.
With my husband away closing up his mother's affairs and dealing with her estate, I've been up and down the stairs more times than I can count since he left hauling armfuls of fire wood. He in general is the family pyromaniac. I'm crap at starting fires. I found and acquired the wood stove, but he's the one that feeds and maintains it. After just the first day when I saw JUST how much firewood we actually use, I decided a carrier was in order.

Holding the carrier is my friend Ticor, (aka
1ticor) who's here visiting/house & dog sitting while my husbands is away.
