I’ve got a walk in closet that measures 7’ by 7’. In NYC (or for that matter, San Francisco), many would rent it out as an extra bedroom. Along two of its walls are wire shelving complete with an integrated clothing rod. That is until the wee hours of yesterday morning, when the upper shelf came away from the wall & in its journey to the floor, took out the lower shelf on its way down. All my shirts and all my pants were on the floor of my closet, blocking the door from the inside.

Well I spent the bulk of my day getting the closet back together. As of tonight, everything’s off the floor, the shelving is back up & doubly braced. The bulk of the clothes have hung back up, and a bunch of shirts, plus some pants were culled from the herd. I have at least another hour’s worth of sorting to do in he morning, if not two. (I want my living and dining rooms back!)

I’m afraid I’m paying for all this activity. After today, my ankles are not happy.

Well, when I posted last night saying my ankles were not happy, was I ever right. They are not happy with me & they are letting me know it today. I got up to take a leak a couple of minutes past seven this morning, & the moment My feet hit the floor my left ankle said, “are you really sure you have to pee?”

I’ve gotten my running shoes on, the ones that have been made specifically for flat feet, I’m a bit less miserable, though that’s also post antiinflamatory, plus Tylenol. I’ll be taking it easy today. B’fast dishes done and watering the potted beds. And now it’s sit and get some sedentary stuff finished while my ankles pout a while longer.
