Now to be honest, the first one amused me. When I left teaching to go to medical school, so many years ago, I had intended to become a pediatrician. It was only when I discovered I liked working with my hands, loved delivering babies, and enjoyed family counseling that I decided Family Medicine was the right place for me to head. I did toy at one point with Physiatry, which would have had me working closely with both orthotists and physical therapists, and I did for a time consider pyschiatry, though that got pushed aside, when I realized that while I like working doing counseling and treating folks with depression, mood disorders and everyday neuroses, people who have truly lost touch with reality wear me out. I am a bit surprised teaching was not up on the list.
Now where the hell #5 came from, is beyond me.
