Ever so slightly toasty.......
Jun. 22nd, 2006 10:42 pmWas in Sacramento for the past two days for continuing professional education. 25 hours of this is required each year. I shoot for 50. There's just soooo much new stuff to stay current on. This particular conference was run by Primed. Cheap price. Good quality lectures on a wide variety of primary care topics. Always come back with tons of things to watch for amongst my patients.
However, 2 days of 105 degrees (perhaps higher) is a bit much for me. Got down to the low 80's at night. The kinda weather where you awaken in the morning and peel the sheets off of your damp, sticky, naked form.
Did get the chance to visit with some friends for a bit while in town. Hopped over to Roseville to see an online friend who had to work late. Got to hang for 30 minutes, after which he went back to the car dealership and I hit the gym to get a run and workout in. We were supposed to reconnoiter later in the evening, but he never showed. C'est la vie.
Got to see another bud, Byron after the lectures ended, who showed me the gay section of Sac'to, such as it is. Dinner at a decent Chinese place, followed by a couple of beers at the Bolt, Sac'to's Bear/Leather/Biker Bar. Ran into Pete, who'd gotten in late the night before from Montana. The man actually owns property there. I resisted making any 'Brokeback Mountain' comments. Montana? My ex hailed from there, and from what he had to say, while the state is beautiful, he was all too happy to leave it behind.
