And the work continues....
Jun. 27th, 2006 08:37 pmThey broke ground today for the new septic system. That officially makes three different major projects going on at once in the house. Perhaps a month from now things will be nearing some semblance of completion. We shall see.
I made the mistake of asking my husband if we might rethink one of the new closets we're considering and he went off on me. Quietly. But he went off nonetheless. The stresses of this is getting to him, and to me as well.
I think I need to bring some dark chocolate home........
On the bright, albeit slightly out of left field, side of things, something happened late last week which amused me, and actually continues to so. I was introduced to one of the local resort owners late last Fall. He and his wife are both emigres, she from Ireland, he Pakistan. They bought their resort last fall, just in time for the New Year's flood. Anyway, I first met them at Kareoke at the Triple R, another resort in town. Her father was visiting from Dublin and I happened to be wearing my kilt that night. I got up and sang and was in particularly good voice that night. After I handed Dan back his mike, the old man made a beeline for me, at which point I let my burr emerge (thanks Grandpa!) We had a delightful chat over a couple of pints of Guinness, and the couple finding out I'm a medical type asked if I was accepting new patients. Interesting way to select a doctor, no?
n any event, I ran into the husband late last week, who asked me for my card. I figured with the summer just starting, they likely need a provider for the son's pre-school exam. After I proffered my card, I find what he really wants is for me to come sing at their grand re-opening of their resort! I'm complemented. Surprised, but way complemented. My only question now, is am I also going to be doing the kid's physical for school?
