Come saturday night I become a devo......
Sep. 27th, 2006 06:49 pmLast year, two of the KJ's (karaoke jockeys) in the county, on of whom is my dear friend Dan, threw a show where they had roughly half a dozen of the more gifted female karaoke vocalists in the area up for an evening performance. It's now time for the men to do the same.
AJ (the other KJ) asked me last fall (before the New Year's flood that hit most of the resorts in our area) if I was willing to be one of his devo's, and I, shy delicate flower that I am, said yes. Originally they were talking about doing this last Valentine's Day, at Club Fab, but the flood nixed that plan. Last Sunday, Dan mentioned it was going to happen this coming Sat. Sigh - so be it.
I have a wake Saturday afternoon, not to mention I'm also on call for the day. Originally I was off, but one of my colleagues needed the day and asked if I would switch with him. I said sure as I had no plans. So much for that one. We'll see what sort of fun Sat brings.
And yes, I'm aware that devo is not masculine for diva, at least not properly so. I've been told deve is the correct, but what the hell, its karaoke.
