Happiness Meme - day #4

Today is a two-fer folks.

It's 4:30 in the AM & I'm wide awake. Why pray tell? Her name is Yisel Evelyn and she tips the scales at 8 pounds even. She has her mother's eyes and her father's cleft chin. She's absolutely beautiful, but then I might be just a bit biased!

I love delivering babies. There is little that makes me happier. I would rather catch a baby than sleep, than eat, or even have sex! It's a sacred trust for me. There is no greater joy for me than puttting a wanted, healthy infant in to the arms of parents who're aching to hold that child. Yisel was no exception and it was her older sister now age 10 who got to cut the cord. I got to deliver her as well (& their 4 y/o brother who was home in bed).

I had logged ok here to post this when I noticed posts on this meme from 5 of the folks I tagged for thiseme as well as folks they tagged. Seeing y'all reflecting on what things make y'all happy, makes happy. As my father told many years ago, "share the pain & it's divided; share the joy & it's multiplied".

Bloody well toasted.....

Last night around midnight as I waited for my lovely lady to deliver, her sister asked if I had a prediction for the time. I sidestepped thie question and said simply, "I predict I'll be getting into bed at around 5 am."

Note that I posted this morning at 4:31. I pulled the covers over me at 5 sharp, then slept until noon. I am however, feeling very weary now and will head home and to bed.
