Two of the women who work where I stop for coffee every morning, were talking about their troubles finding the h1n1 vaccine when I came through yesterday. One is a new grandmother, the baby living under her roof which should have put her in a high priority group. Unfortunately, her Kaiser doc didn't see it that way, or so she said. I stop there daily, so bringing a flu vaccine with me seemed the kind thing to do. Turns out I administered 3 of them there this morning, plus 3 more at my mechanics when I stopped to schedule a transmission service next week. My mechanic's a friend and horrible about taking care of himself. The way he smokes and drives himself (workaholic doesn't even begin to describe it), I figured if I didn't hit him at work, he wouldn't get the vaccine. I remember his last flu better than I care to, so again it seemed the kind thing to do. Next thing I know, the guys that work there were lining up, sleeves rolled up. I was one dose short. The kid that does his tire service was bummed. It was the 3rd time he'd missed getting the shot. I promised him I'd bring one next week when I bring the car in.

I'm off to a meeting tomorrow for the next couple of days, & I'll be bringing vaccine with me there, as well as to Meeting for Worship this Sunday. I'll be stopping for coffee as much to catch the children of the other woman who couldn't get their vaccines either.
