So, with Romney now a footnote in history and the Democrats still in control of the Senate, there is now no real danger that the affordable care act (aka Obamacare) will not be implemented. By the time of the next midterms, major portions will have gone into effect like the state by state private exchanges that are supposed to be up and functioning by the first of 2014.

Finally, we're going to see this country coming much closer to universal coverage and as someone who spent a chunk for my 30's and early 40's uncovered, despite being a health care provider myself, it's something I cannot wait to see happen.

It only took 36 hours, but it got called for President Obama. Obama was ahead by 52,000 votes out of 8 1/4 million cast.

And if you hear anyone try to tell you otherwise. Obama took the popular vote nationwide, by just over 3 million votes, out 119 million cast. While that pleases me, why were only 119 million votes cast? By my math, there should be roughly 220 million people in this country who should be eligible to vote.

How do I get that figure? In 2000 the census counted 283 million of which 261 mill. were citizens. Estimate is we're now at about 315 million total and if the same percentage are citizens that would be 290 million The last census put 24% of the population at under 18, so that should be 220 million citizens 18 and up. However, only 119 million voted. That's just a bit over half.
