Since February of 2011 Donald Trump has fanned the flames of birtherism; he's been the lead proponent of the fiction that the president was not a natural born American (American born mother, Honolulu newspaper birth announcements, and Hawai'ian birth certificate not withstanding).

This past week he announced he would make a major statement at a press conference.

Press conference?

What happened was an infomercial for his new DC hotel. He surrounded himself with as many decorated military heroes as he could gather, hyped his new DC hotel venture extensively, then finally gave a 7 second statement acknowledging Obama was indeed born in the US. He then announced he (as only he could) had put this accusation to rest having proven Obama had been born in the US, after Hillary Clinton's 2008 campaign started this vicious rumor. With that he left the stage taking NO questions from the rather irate press, who after standing thru his lengthy 'infomercial' were unable to do their jobs.

Excuse me? This would be laughable were this not someone who could feasibly land in the Oval Office himself. The prospect of that scares the daylights out of me. How is this even remotely possible?
