This probably borders on TMI. (& speaking of TMI, we actually saw the Three mile Island Nuclear facility from the air as we started our descent into Philly.)

We've travelled cross country to spend Thanksgiving in the busom of my family of origin; so far it's been a very good trip. However, I use a CPAP at night and to lighten my load a bit and pack a bit lighter, I decided to do without the machine's humidifier.

Big mistake, especially with mom's forced air heat. My airways have been dry as the proverbial bone.

I awoke twice during the night feeling as though I'd been chewing on sand. Worse, for most of the day I've had the left side of my nose obstructed. Felt as though it was plugged. It's been keeping me from falling asleep. Despite blowing my nose repeatedly today, nothing changed.

I just sneezed, dislodging a dessicated chunk of mucous that felt as though it had its own zip code. Voilá, I'm clear & much more comfortable. I think I'll be able to sleep now.

Sorry for all the discomfort you've been feeling. Glad that now you seem to be much better. May the Thanksgiving Holiday be filled with much happiness and joy for you and yours. HUGS

How good it is to see that you have resurfaced again. Thanksgiving was wonderful on our side; I could not have asked for better.

It's also good to see that you're in my time zone and just up the coast from me. Very close friends are planning to relocate to Portland from Tulsa within the year, so I'm likely to head north for a visit. It will be good to finally meet in person.

As a sinus sufferer I can totally relate. Have a good visit.

I just wish the saline nasal rinse wasn't such an ordeal for me; I hate using them.

It's that unexpected drip an hour or two later that gets me the most.

We solve the air humidity problem by dying some laundry inside the room. Maybe you should try that? ;)

*hugs*

At my mother's house? She would likely have a cow. However, thanks for the thought.

We're home now, in the midst of the humidity of the forest. I'll will get to that research we talked about today I hope.

I used to think that running my C-PAP humidifier at full bore was the answer to "dryness". I'm beginning to realize, that a full bore, the air may be more humid, but it's also warm which might aggravate the problem. I've had better luck with cooler, drier air.

For middle-of-the-night refreshment, G2 (diet Gatorade) is good, and some sort of "dairy" (in my case, soymilk) seems to work better than water.
