I was unnerved, annoyed and disgusted earlier this week when Bush commuted Scooter Libby's jail sentence. Keith Olbermann expressed my thoughts and my outrage so much more eloquently than I could. I am grateful that MSNBC has the cajones to grant this man a forum nightly on prime time national television.

Here is his commentary of 7-3-07 courtesy of Youtube.

Absolutely; his ability to express his anger and disgust in such a fashion is part of the reason I admire Mr. Olbermann so.

I was amazed the first time I saw the man on TV. He speaks truth to power, something Friends have both respected and attempted to practice for 300 years(& something that very much speaks to my little Quaker heart). I remain amazed and grateful MSNBC continues to give him a forum, given the connection of money and power within this country and given how little we see of real news within this country's print and broadcast media.

Great speech!

Problem is, his voice is going on the wrong venue.

Where he needs to be heard is in the south. In the red states, where AM radio has managed to rally most of their listeners to drum up the money to pay Scooter's $250,000 fine.

To the red states (and most of America) Scooter, Bush & Da Prez are heroes, and can't do anything wrong.

As long as the continue to bash us, everything is hunky-dory in their book.

The closest the modern world has to an Edward R. Murrow.

NBC would do the country a great service by giving him a greater audience.

To invoke a line from LBJ's presidency, I am pretty certain that ElShrubo has lost Cronkite.

Ah, Murrow. Another hero of mine. He was a wonderful example of speaking truth to power. (And by the way, was raised by Quaker parents. Unlike the Milhouse family, he did us Friends proud).
