Home Depot...
Dec. 25th, 2016 01:31 amThe word from here is encouraging. I went online to find the specs on the appliances I want for the new house. The cabinet maker needed the dimensions to get his work done started. What I wanted is not cheap. I'd gotten good reviews on Samsung products so I used their website to select much of what I wanted in the kitchen. The fridge was a staggering $3900. The range $2500. At least that's what Samsung advertises them for.
Home Depot has both rebates from Samsung now as well as store rebates thru the 4th. Monday I need to call their Ukiah store and see if they deliver to Jago Bay. The Santa Rosa store will not. However, the fridge was discounted $1400 & the stove $800. Further the microwave range hood will run just $224 and they have a washer/dryer pair that will set me back roughly $1250. All of these prices are before tax and delivery charges as well.
I meet to check out consumer reports on the washer and dryer I'm looking at, but I'm jazzed about the fridge and stove. Ther former is a counter depth 22+ cubic foot model with French doors above, a pullout freezer below & a drawer inbetween the fridge and freezer sections that can go from fridge to freezer temps and back. The range has an oversized self cleaning convection oven, 5 burners including a central oval burner for long pans, a warming drawer, a griddle and a wok stand over a high btu burner. They're both higher end pieces, not Wolf or Sub-zero, but still high quality. If I'm giving up my 1938 Occidental gas and wood cook stove, then dammit, I want something I'll really want to cook on.

I also think everyone should get a physiotherapist to do a Berg balance test and timed up and go test to evaluate potential fall risk before a fall happens.

Date: 2016-12-25 05:47 pm (UTC)Check out Consumer Reports, and consider LG for the washer and dryer.
Our LG washer and dryer are 15+ years old, and have never had a single issue despite being moved between two different homes.
