Feeling a little bit better....
Mar. 5th, 2018 09:28 pmI started coughing Saturday evening. Mild tickle in my throat. I wondered if it was the beginning of springtime allergies. 24 hours later it was clear. I have a full blown chest cold. Sore throat, productive cough, basso profundo croaking voice. A friend from back east called me midday; “how sexy you sound! Just like Barry White.”
Sexy is not how I felt l this morning. I had all of two hours sleep last night. With a throat that felt like I’d gargled with battery acid, I hit the throat lozenges hard and the fluids even harder. This meant trips to pee every couple of hours. I finally said the hell with it at 4:45 this morning & got out of bed to make avgolemono (Greek chicken soup with egg and lemon). I’ve laid low today, pushing tea and other fluids and snacking on the avgolemono.
LJ came down with the same mid morning. He’s slept a good chunk of the day. I’ve been wide awake, while he’s been out cold. He’s lagging behind with his symptoms about 24-36 hours after mine. The good news is I think I’m just starting feel a bit better. My throat is a little less scratchy. I’m a little less achy. I actually had an appetite at dinner.
We’ll see what the morning brings.
