Creature comforts....
Dec. 13th, 2007 03:22 pmWhat creature comfort in your current life are you grateful for?
Is it the Wi-fi router you set up in the house? Perhaps its your old pair of slippers that feel just so wonderful on your feet, those plush flannel sheets you bought last spring, or the the bed pillow you have that's just the right combination of soft and firm. Is it a particular kitchen tool you always seem to reach for that makes your life easier, or the e-phone you just had to have?
I wanna know, nosy little SOB that I am.
For me, its having the chance to settle down for 10 minutes to savour one of my favorite blends of tea, something called Winter White Earl Grey. I'm nursing a cup of it right now as I write.

Date: 2007-12-14 01:20 am (UTC)In technology... I'd have to go with Remote Desktop and VMWare Player. The former lets me control my other computers with my laptop from my easy chair, and the latter lets me experiment with operating systems and software I'm not sure of without risking my network or a real machine's integrity.
In food... Trader Joe's Cream of Tomato Soup In A Box. ;) Shake it, pour it, nuke it - YUM! No having to skip the soup because I'm out of or don't have enough milk. I need to order some, but another entry would be Ganong's Fruitfull gel candies. They're similar to other fruit jellies - but with incredible, intense real fruit flavors and a unique texture; they're heavenly. There's also a version now that's enrobed in dark chocolate that I simply have to try.
In entertainment... The online comic strip Girl Genius. I know I sometimes sound like a cultist on this topic, but it's just one of the most wonderful things I've ever seen. It's fantastic to watch the story unfold at 3 pages a week ... then get the compilation and re-devour the whole thing all over again. In terms of story and art - it's simply wonderful, though not for those allergic to steampunk.
In clothing ... my new "Wal*Marx: Always Corporate Greed. Always." t-shirt, from T-Shirt Hell.
