Bloody well amazed......
Oct. 6th, 2005 09:01 pmAt the risk of beating a dead horse, I am dumbfounded.
I started the new anti-diabetic med, Byetta, earlier this week. So far I have had exactly 7 doses. My sugars have been fine, but then they were fine before. And when I say fine, I mean non-diabetic numbers. The problem was the weight gain and the edema that came with the medication I was taking.
I just ran my numbers for the day on my nutrition program, and they're even lower than yesterday. All I've eaten today is a grand total of 750 kcal (give or take). It seems so strange that I'm not hungry! Yesterday I took in just shy of 1100 kcal and when I did the numbers last night, I thought I should probably have a bit more protien to eat. The second I stood up to go to the fridge, I realized there was no way I was eating anything else. Half a sandwich plus a small yogurt and I was as full as full gets. I didn't so much as touch anything else until 10 this morning. I would have eaten a bit earlier, but I had a dental appointment at 8.
Had I eaten like this last week, I would have been nothing short of ravenous! We'll see where this takes us (yeah yeah, its the 'royal we',get over it!)
