Morning tea........

osodecanelaI'm pleasantly sated. I've just finished brunch on my own. LJ got up early to walk Aaron and then go to Meeting for Worship. He sweetly left me to sleep, only awakening me with a kiss just prior to heading out the door.
I love a civilized brunch. Robe and slippers on, I padded off to the kitchen, set a small teapot with water to warm in the microwave, and peeled, then diced a ripe mango to toss into some cottage cheese. While the Keemun Imperial brewed, the whole grain toast toasted, the Boca sausages heated and the b'fast tray got assembled. The only thing missing was the sunday paper. When ready, I trotted it all off to the sitting room, turned on the Sunday morning talking heads on the telly and enjoyed my repast in warmth and solitude. A good cup of tea, properly made truly is a wonderful way to face the day.
I was raised on good tea. All four of my grandparents hailed from tea drinking countries, but like so many Americans, I got into the coffee habit while in college. I do enjoy good coffee, but it generally lacks much of tea's versatility, most of its subtlety, and all of it's anti-oxidents. I must remember to thank Ogam for re-kindling my love of the stuff. I owe my tea renaissance to him. (So much so, that I suspect my tea merchant may have added him to her x-mas gift list.)
I have in turn sparked a love for the stuff in no less than 4 others. My office manager now joins me in a pot or three of tea most days at work. Her daughter, aged 10 is now fixing herself a pot of Baroness Grey every morning before she leaves for school. My physician's assistant has joined in the fray and is brewing tea from loose leaves both at the office and at home. The 3 of us just split a $100 order from the tea merchant, over 4 lbs. of different teas divided between us.
