Dec. 31st, 2007 07:11 pmI'm ending the year at the office. Tood the day off, but I made the drive in anyway to see not one, but two kids, each with an ear infection. The older boy, age 10 (and yes that's a bit old for an otitis media) is a delight to see. Love a kid who asks cogent, intelligent questions. The other child's a toddler and could not get away from me fast enough. It was the right thing to do, and it saved the insurance company oodles, as neither kid presented to an ER. Me, I made a whole $10 off of the HMO co-pays for this trip, which should at least cover the cost of my gas. Whee! But then, I'm a rich Doc, right?
Now its home to my husband, to fix a shrimp ceasar, and cocoon over a bottle of bubbly, and cuddle in front of the tube. We are such an old married couple. We've been invited out to a NYE party at my Oana's, but my gut was acting up earlier, so that's not in the cards tonight.
To all of you who're reading this, I wish y'all a somewhat less cynical New Year's. I hope this finds you all in good health and spirits and that 2008 ushers in a new era of peace and prosperity for everyone.
