WTF! Arson?!?
Aug. 16th, 2016 06:20 amLet me start by saying we're fine & and the new homestead is fine. We're moving to Jago Bay sometime this fall, once the renovations on the new place are done. Sadly, Lake County has been repeatedly struck by severe wildfires in the past two years which have left hundreds of people burned out of their homes and several people have lost their lives. There have been multiple fires just in the past month.
The Clayton fire is ongoing right now. It's to the east of Lower Lake & has been moving north and east. Our place is to the the northwest and we're right on Clear Lake, rather than in the town of Clearlake.
The fires of the past two years have been well out of the ordinary in both frequency and magnitude; yesterday someone was caught and charged with 17 counts of arson for the Clayton fire as well as others over the past 18 months.
With luck they've got the right guy and while fire season will go on, the arson will not. At least we can hope.
