I saw this film back in 1986 and Marlee Matlin absolutely blew me away. It was an incredible role for a talented actress. I've loved seeing her thru the years, especially on the West Wing, and frankly, I wish she would be in more. However with her profound deafness, roles are just not all that frequent.

I was a bit surprised to hear she was going on to this season's Dancing with the Stars. Pleasantly surprised, after seeing the following video. I don't see all that much TV, and though I love a good dance movie, I have not made it a point to see this show. This video (though a bit long - sorry folks) is impressive. Despite her lack of hearing, she's definitely got the beat.

I can't help but notice that ABC keeps only vaguely alluding to the fact that Marlee Matlin has spent the last season as a member of the “L Word” cast…
