If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE-UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people say.

I remember the time we took a ride to Modesto, CA and had a picnic in that little park. I brought some cold pasta salad and lots of crackers and cheese. You brought wine, but I didn't drink any. We ate and then flipped over every rock and log we could see trying to find salamanders. After that we went for a hike up Mt. Diablo and took photos of tarantulas. That was super fun! :)

I remember that time we went to Disney Land and [livejournal.com profile] malamute_daddy pushed you around in a wheel chair so that we could move to the front of almost every line!

And then that evening, we went to the all-you-can-eat ice cream bar!

Remember the time when we were time traveling back to investigate the mound builder culture. I almost got caught and you kept me from contaminating the time line. It was just too hard to resist eavesdropping on their stories - they were really funny. Much funnier than we ever expected from previous reports. You pulled me out of there so fast we overshot into the future by a month and had to wait for the present to catch up with us. Now that was a fun month - I am still in awe of all of the things you taught me to pass the time. THANKS!!!

Remember when we were in high school together and use to ride our bikes to McDonalds after school and pig out on french fries? They tasted so good back then. Of course, back then they weren't bad for us either! Then we'd usually end up back at your house, since your parents weren't home, reading comic books and checking out your Dad's latest copy of Playboy, which he thought he'd carefully hidden from you. They were nice to look at but now I understand why neither of us weren't drooling over the pictures. ;-)

Damn, I can still taste those french fries now...

Remember that day we met by chance in that little burger shack, and wound up spending the rest of the day and well into the night talking over a bottle of Jack Daniel's? Who knew you'd read all of The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire?

It's a bit cloudy. The memory wipe didn't work quite as smoothly as it should, but, I still have a trace of the old memories left. You, me and the others were all supposed in rendezvous in Northern California in the late 20th century. I see you and most of the others made it. Congrats.

I splashed down in the midwest about six months after you did. What a culture shock! I forgot that they didn't even start spaceflight until '61. Black & white TVs! Three channels! No computers!

Anyway, I did manage to get to Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park in the early eighties for a few weeks. I drove around the valley looking for the designated rendezvous points, but everything looked so different from the briefing images.

I drove back and forth trying to pick up a beacon or something, but all I got were a few faint echoes of what was to be. The hills seemed to be reflecting or refracting the signal. Or, maybe I was just a few years early.

I see that you're back into dyeing. Are you still doing that galactic spiral design you used to like so much? It really looked tremendous with that black overdye technique.

Well, I know that we aren't supposed to talk about it, much less remember the old life. But, hey, this is supposed to be fiction right?

Tell everyone I sent my greetings, and if I don't get to hookup with you in this go 'round, maybe I'll see you in the next.
