The price of unconditional love......
Jun. 30th, 2008 07:03 pmJust got off the phone with 1-800-petmeds. I just dropped $160 bucks on the dog.
It's time for Aaron's heartworm med to get refilled. LJ mentioned it to me last week, and then again yesterday, as much to remind himself, I suspect, as me. I was about to head out the door for home when I stopped to check my email and there was an advert from 1-800-petmeds. Timely.
First I was off to the web site to check their prices, then to the phone to talk with a live person. In 7-10 days, we'll have his heartworm prevention meds, joint chews for his somewhat aging hips (the same stuff in fact I take for my somewhat aging knees & ankles), and some cleaning drops to hopefully quiet down the ear that troubles him so much. He yelps when he scratches it himself, no less.
It's been an expensive pet month here. I spent $350 on pet food the week before last, which should last thru mid September. I wonder if the dog has any concept of what he costs?
No matter. I love him dearly. As does my husband. And to Aaron, we're his pack.
OR pride from the cats' perspective.
And thats what's important.

Date: 2008-07-01 06:50 am (UTC)Let me put it this way, relating to my dog Scoot.
Up on the river, there's hundreds of people hooked on Methamphetamine. When she learned that this is bad, she would bark loudly whenever an addict would walk by, most likely scoping out our place.
It's nearly impossible for a human to detect someone at the first stages of their addiction. For Scoot, it was a piece of cake.
Better than any burglar alarm I can think of...
