Good lord, Judy Chicago. Um, yeah. The Emily Dickinson plate at "The Dinner Party" left me in stitches with all the ruffles and lace. Walking thru the exhibit in the B'klyn Museum all the while struggling to suppress my laughter after seeing that particular plate was brutal.
I agree, she is a major talent and I get the sense of humor. It just felt very PI as a man to burst out laughing at one plate, while surrounded by nothing other than women. Keep in mind this was 30 odd years ago, and at the time many lesbians in NYC were none too keen on men, even gay ones, in what they felt was wymynspace.
