As I stood here at the computer checking my e-mail, LJ said the un-imaginable. "I just thought of 3 more people we need to invite to the wedding."
It's a good thing I was not drinking anything or it would have either sprayed out of my mouth or come shooting out of my nose. Struggling to not show my shock, I raised my left eyebrow and replied, "Oh?"
"We forgot to put Patty & Andy on the list last night. Oh and Mike. We need to invite Mike. And I guess that means we need to invite his wife. So that's another 4."
Mike is our mechanic. He and I trade services.
Last night the tasks we have to accomplish, the details to be seen to, and that it's not going to be just 4 or 5 people dawned on him. There were 38 people on the invite list last night. I guess there are now 42. I'm dead certain at least 30 of them will be here and frankly, I would not be surprised if all of them come.
When he was finished I asked, "Who are you and what have you done with my husband?" He laughed.
"Maybe they won't come."
"and maybe my hair will turn green," I countered.
We go later today to get our marriage license. I need to talk to our friends who've volunteered to help.
Wedding cake, chair and table rental, decorations, finger food, champagne and other things all need to be worked out. At least when, where, and who, has been agreed upon. Now we just need to make it happen.
