Dwayne (malamute_daddy) called yesterday; good tea was one of the topics of conversation. I do appreciate a good cup of tea, and when it's done right, it's loose, brewed in small batches for oneself or in a larger pot to be shared, as soon as it's ready. I don't think of myself as either pretentious or high maintenance, but as I look at the tea service on my desk as I'm doing my paperwork, I guess I might need to re-think that.

The majority of Americans if they want a cup of tea, it's a tea bag dropped into a cup of hot water, and jiggled if they're in a hurry, or simply left to steep if not.

Not for me.

Above, is an individual teapot/cup combo I picked up during my last trip to the UK at the Penny Lane street market, a tea strainer, small individual creamer, and my USB cup warmer/USB hub. I'm savoring Earl Grey white tip at the moment.

All that for a decent cup of tea.

I love a good cup or two of tea; but sadly I don't yet have a tea set. Earl Grey, a splash of cream and with one lump, please. :)

Rat has problems getting tea that he likes at restaurants. So he brings his own tea and orders hot water.

I have that in common with you. I love a good cup of tea and while you're on the English side of things, I've been more Chinese with my clay pot and Ti Quan Yin and water heated to Fish Eyes.
