Feeling good, albeit a bit wierd....
Jun. 7th, 2012 07:49 pmSaw the dental hygienist this morning. I get cleanings every 3 months. Having sleep apnea and using CPAP often dries out my mouth which can lead to gum disease and all the orthodonture I had as a teen left me with very short roots on my teeth. Any gum issues and thing get loose in a hurry.
For once I made it thru with absolutely no bleeding. She kept asking me what I was doing different, and I kept telling her it's the new oral B I got recently. This pleases me greatly.
I just finished my last patient for the day. She's 10 years my junior and the moment I walked in the room, I noticed how much less of her there is. She's dropped 21 lbs since the beginning of the year. She asked me how in January and the first three words out of my mouth were, "mueve las nalgas." (move your butt). Her husband has probably lost almost 10 and they're hitting the gym together, doing exactly what I had recommended to her 5 months ago.
We did have a chat about body image; she was concerned that while she knows she has lost the weight, she doesn't see it. I can sympathize, and did. Actually, empathize would be more accurate.
I think it's time to start making some changes on (to) my end.....

Date: 2012-06-08 12:37 pm (UTC)Cold (lactose-free skim) milk seems to be soothing to one's mouth when you wake up in the middle of the night. Gatorade's G2 is also good - however, the G2 only seems to come in Fruit Punch, Radioactive Coolant Green, Pool Water Teal, and Windex Blue colors.
