They don't give up easily....

So the wonderful folks that gave us Prop H8 are spinning their legal wheels. They petitioned the Supreme Court for a stay of marriage for same sex couples in California. That was denied (Thank you Justice Kennedy). Last week they went to the California Supreme Court with the same request. That was denied today.
They've lost and just are not able to accept that fact. Poor puppies. (not.)
I have no sympathy for them whatsoever. To paraphrase what has been said before by others in our community, if my ability to get married and to have my marriage accepted by the state and federal governments, affects the quality of your marriage, then you need to work on your marriage and keep your bloody nose out of my business!
We refiled our federal taxes for last year and my husband will get a refund that he would not have gotten otherwise. It's not the third of a million that Edie Windsor will get back from the IRS for the estate taxes she should never have been libel for when her wife died, but still now that we're recognized by the federal government, and can file just like every other legally married couple, I'm grateful.
It's not the few hundred bucks he/we will see back. It's that we're no longer sitting in the back of the bus. At least, not in California.

This what they're doing with the futile petitions and noisemaking has one aim only: prolong the funds influx from like-minded christianist hatebags.
