I wish there was some marking (shading, striping, cross-hatching) that showed the states where we won the initial suit, but that it's being appealed, eg, TX, OK, UT, VA, WV,... Nevermind, I saw it when I scrolled the full sized image
Today's TX decision is interesting. Atty Gen Greg Abbott will have to take time away from his Gov campaign to admin, if not argue, the appeal.
When people post about marriage equality for same-sex, I think this would be a telling graphic, far better than just the ones showing full-on benefits. Sometimes you can make people give up complaining when they see that more than 40% of the States have enacted equality-positive laws for same-sex marriage or civil union or at arguing about them. Inevitability isn't a peace-maker, but it makes people's "No gay marriage!" opinions fairly irrelevant when no-one listens to them anymore.
I found the graphic very encouraging & while I absolutely hang on news regarding our equality movement, the scope of where major equality lawsuits are happening was news to me. To see where we have come in what is a short period of time for social change in the US astounds me.
I entered high school 2 months after the Stonewall riot, in the same neighborhood where it happened. I was a college sophomore when the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. To have gone from there to where we are today is heartening. It's not far enough, but nonetheless it's heartening.
