Good Omens....
Mar. 6th, 2014 01:21 pmWhat's in a name?
At times, something rather momentous. I find it a source of hope and inspiration that the court case that ended interracial marriage prohibitions was Loving v. Virginia. It's about love. Commitment. Family. Basic civil and human rights. But first and foremost, it was about love. The name of that case is one many of us, even those not so up on their civics and history lessons, know and remember.
Well there are two upcoming cases I hope will be just as important for my community. The challenge to Kentucky's Constitutional marriage equality ban is Love v. Beshear and the suit in Wyoming challenging their state's statute is Courage v. Wyoming.
So, I ask y'all, what's in a name?
