Voting Guides

I'm eager to vote away our problems but one of the issues I have is that I find I live a much happier life when I'm not paying attention to politics.

When I was Christian, places like Focus on the Family would pass out 'voting guides' that basically said things like 'This candidate is a baby killer, only vote for him if you like going to hell.' and similar things.

We should have something like that. Since you hit up these sites, do any of them offer voting guides to let you know which candidates are moving forward with equality and other important issues.

You have to do your homework, but here are some tips. HRC has a page for folks running for congress (both House and Senate) with a positive track record on our community. You can even donate there to them. The league of women voters is a good source of info for issues coming up on the ballot (ballot initiatives). In SF, looking to see who the gay democratic club is supporting is worth checking out.

Mentioning HRC, they have a shopping app rating companies of all sorts on their support for equality for our community, both on how they treat their GLBT employees and as well as their public stands. It's available for the iPhone and I think for Android.
