The holidays are indeed upon us. My office manager walked back into my office as I tried to get work done, first carrying a decorative holiday basket (no food with this one, amen). Then an hour later a gift bag with gourmet cooking ingredients and sauces appeared. (mmmm, truffle oil!)

Now she walks in and tells me, there is a huge couple of boxes of chocolate in front. When I asked her to let me see them, I was told I had to come to the front desk, as they were too big to lift! She was not kidding. There are two crates of Harry and David truffles in the front of my office!

I think ist time to go to the dollar shop to buy some smaller baskets and do a little re-gifting. If I don't I don't want to see what happens to our waistlines, or our insulin levels this month.

I did read somewhere that because the sugar in chocolate is tightly bound to the fat, that chocolate doesn't mess with blood sugar as much as you'd think.
