Love my boots, especially the pair I have on at the moment (Nacona's that are knee high, with a black cowhide shaft, and navy blue stingray vamps, size 14.5 - the most comfortable pair of boots that I own. I could absolutely live in them.)

I love the feel of these against my legs. They FEEL good against my skin and on my feet.

I was walking around the house last night after dinner, putting things away and getting ready for today. I'd doffed my shirt and just had on a pair of jeans and the boots I have on at the moment. They were comfortable and felt just kinda quintessentially male. These are guy clothes.

I like being a guy. I'm comfortable in my own skin. I enjoy being male.

I'm a bit open when I think about what male attributes are. There are many roles I see for male energy that are every bit as nurturing and supportive as when they being carried out by women. I'm quite content in the kitchen or behind a sewing machine (as were my father and each of my grandfathers).

I had to laugh earlier this week. I have a patient in her early 30's who in the midst of a slightly heated interaction (I was refusing to renew a narcotic pain medication) called me "dude".

Dude?

It startled me. It was more informal an interaction than I'm typically used to. But sure, I'll own that. After my initial surprise, it made me smile. I'm male, so sure, if I'm wearing a pair of cowboy boots and jeans while I'm seeing you, I guess you're entitled to use the term "dude".

It does kinda fit. Comfortable, like an old pair of boots.
